UN chief warns Bahraini regime against brutality toward protesters

The UN Chief, Ban Ki-Moon, has warned the Bahraini regime against resorting to violence toward the Bahraini demonstrators.

According to IRNA from New York on Wednesday, in an address to reporters, the UN Secretary General’s Spokesperson, Martin Nesirky, has emphasized that the UN chief and the high commissioner on human rights have spoken against violent suppression of peaceful demonstrators in Bahrain, while also urging the immediate release of those, who have been incarcerated in the wake of these protests.

Meanwhile, the Bahraini prosecutor general has announced that if the protests continue, all the protesters will be killed.

Moreover, the Chairman of Bahraini Center for Human Rights, Nabil Rajab, has lambasted West’s muted reaction toward the incidents in this country, while warning against the emergence of highly catastrophic conditions in this country.

In an interview with Al-Alam Network, this activist pointed out that the security and military forces have raided Bahrain’s regions, villages, and cities, killing and/or detaining Bahraini nationals.

He also noted that Bahraini people, from all walks of life, including Shiites and Sunnis, strongly denounce the atrocious attacks of Saudi-backed Bahraini forces on innocent and defenseless Bahraini people. …source
